Safety and house rules
What is actually in place, written for the person who worries most. Everything below is either confirmed by the hostel or visible in the photographs.
A locker of her own in every room
Each girl gets her own lockable almirah, so her documents, phone and money are never lying in the open. You can see them in the room photographs.
Everyone is admitted on proof of identity
Admission is recorded against an Aadhaar card and a Family ID. Nobody stays here without being on the register under her own name.
The house rules are on the wall
The rules are printed and hang in the waiting area where everyone walks past them, not kept in a drawer. You will be given them at admission, and you can read them on the wall when you visit.
Fire extinguisher at the entrance
There is a fire extinguisher mounted on the wall of the waiting area, by the door.
Attached bathrooms, not shared corridors
Rooms come with their own bathroom, so no one is walking down a corridor at night to reach one.
Someone answers, every day
The hostel number is answered between 8 in the morning and 8 at night, seven days a week. Parents can and do call.
A hospital under two kilometres away
Civil Hospital on Subhash Road is about 1.7 km from the gate, a few minutes by road, and there is a pharmacy on the same street as the hostel.
The questions we would rather answer in person
These are the ones every parent asks. The honest answer is that they are best answered by the people who run the hostel, on the phone or when you visit, rather than written loosely on a website.
- What time do the girls have to be back in the evening?
- Who is allowed to visit, and can a parent stay?
- Who is on the premises at night, and is the staff female?
- Who do I call in an emergency, and which hospital do you use?
Call 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, seven days. Ask all four. A hostel that cannot answer them clearly is not one to leave your daughter in, and we would rather you asked us than assumed.
Come and see the place
The best way to decide is to walk through the rooms and meet the people who run the hostel. Call us, or send a WhatsApp message and we will reply during enquiry hours.
Rooms start from ₹4,000 a month per girl.
Enquiry hours: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, seven days
