Durga Girls Hostel

About the hostel

A girls' hostel and PG in Durga Colony, Rohtak, for students and working women.

A place to live, not a place to be processed

Durga Girls Hostel is a thirty-five room hostel in Durga Colony, Rohtak. It takes college and university students, girls preparing for competitive exams, and working women, including those who have just moved to the city for a job.

It is run as a household rather than a company. The people who own it answer the phone themselves, and the reviews left on Google tend to talk about the owners and the food rather than the furniture.

What we try to get right is narrow and old-fashioned: a clean room with a window, meals that taste like someone cooked them for you, a locker for your things, and a price with nothing hidden behind it.

What we hold ourselves to

Three things, and we would rather be judged on them than on adjectives.

  • The price on the website is the price

No security deposit, no registration or admission fee, no maintenance fee, no advance rent, no notice period and no late-payment charge. The only things charged on top of the rent are the cooler, the geyser and the air-conditioning meter, and each is written on the room's card.

  • We say what we do not have

There is no laundry service here. We would rather tell you that on the website than let you find out in your first week. If something on this site is unclear, it is because we have not confirmed it yet, not because we are hiding it.

  • A person answers the phone

Between 8 in the morning and 8 at night, seven days a week, somebody picks up. Parents call, and that is as it should be.
